With the start of the New Year, Burgundy Street Family Medical will be welcoming some new faces. We have one new doctor that has already joined our team, Dr. Nadeeja Jayasinghe. Two other doctors, Dr. Ritu Parmar and Dr. Manikandaswamy Rajendran are due to start within the next few weeks and will work during evenings from 6pm and on weekends.
Dr. Nadeeja started working at Burgundy Street Family Medical in January and consults on Tuesdays from 9am to 4pm. Dr Nadeeja obtained MB.BS. in 2008 and gained hospital experience in many specialties before she entered General Practice. She successfully completed the Australian General Practice training and obtained FRACGP in 2015. Dr Nadeeja is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor and a member of Skin Cancer College Australasia. She has obtained the Certificate of Dermatoscopy, the Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery, the Advanced Clinical Certificate of Dermoscopy, the Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery. Dr Nadeeja is well experienced in performing full skin examinations and managing skin cancers surgically and non-surgically. Dr Nadeeja also has special interest in Women’s health and Paediatrics.
Dr. Rajendran has 11 years of experience as a General Practitioner. He initially worked in Emergency Medicine before turning his attention to General Practice. He is interested in all aspects of general practice with a special interest in mental health, chronic disease management and preventative health. Having worked in Queensland, Tasmania, India, Saudi Arabia and Maldives, he has experience working with a variety of patients. He can also speak in Tamil and Malayalam fluently. Dr. Rajendran is currently working towards his FRACGP.
Dr. Ritu Parmar has worked in primary care in both general practice and hospital settings. She is ECFMG certified in the USA, and has obtained LMCC in Canada, where she gained experience in many facets of general practice such as family practice, minor surgeries, women’s health, paediatrics and psychiatry. Dr. Parmar is interested in all aspects of general practice with a particular focus on women’s and children’s health, antenatal care, family medicine, chronic disease management, and preventative health. She can also speak in Hindi fluently, and can converse in Punjabi and Urdu as well. Dr. Parmar has recently migrated from Canada and is currently working towards her FRACGP.
